How Do I Become a Christian?
No other book proclaims the Good News of salvation and eternal life with the living God Jehovah apart from the Bible. Jesus said in John Chapter 10, verses 9 and 10, I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Perhaps you have previously asked Christ to enter your heart and are enjoying growing in His grace, the abundant life, with Him. But perhaps you have not. The process of becoming a Christian is simple, but our heads often get in the way of simple heart faith. Be certain that you have been born again, saved the Bible way, according to God’s instructions. This is an eternally important decision! The Bible states the following simple truths: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans Chapter 3, verse 23). This includes you and me. I certainly agree. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans Chapter 6, verse 23). Although I deserve eternal separation from God, He has provided through His merciful love for each of us the way to live with Him forever. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me (John Chapter 14, verse 6). Straight and to the point. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation Chapter 3, verse 20). He knocks, politely, but I must open the door of my heart to Him and invite Him in. But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name (John Chapter 1, verse 12). Once I’ve asked Christ into my heart, I’m adopted. I don’t need to understand all that happens, just trust Him by faith – now believe it. If you have yet to ask Christ into your heart, pray a prayer something like this one out loud, and mean it from your heart. “God, thank you for loving me. Please forgive me for my sins. Jesus, if You would please come into my heart and save me as You’ve promised. Take away my sins and take me to heaven with You when I die.” If you have received Christ as your personal Savior, print this page and record this decision now as a profession in the block below, even if it was many years ago, with your signature and date.
