Talking Truth
Take a peek at Psalm 143 below. As God is a Spirit, He expects us to address Him similarly. And as in any loved-based relationship, He expects us to be truthful in His presence. So whether we need to just be in His presence or dial 911, we can approach Him with confidence, balanced with a proper attitude of reverence and respect. A proper balance of love and fear, spirit and flesh. You would think a king would not be in despair or danger of distress, and yet, every position has its glories and gullies. We all go through the dark cycles of depression, oppression, desolation and being overwhelmed and without hope. So how do we climb out?! The recipe starts with honest communication with our Father. A simple request that He hear our prayer. And while we leave our throne room for His, start remembering His blessings and works in our lives, knowing He thinks of us thoughts of peace and not evil. The next baby step is to step out in faith, “stretch forth thy hand” – move out ! Get up, get out, get going! Asking Him to create a thirst in us to be “with Him.” Start looking around for His lovingkindness. Oh, and now – ask Him to intervene, and “cause” you to tune in to Him and His will for your life. To make you alive again, and remember that you are here to serve. Now you can pray along with the psalmist, Psalm 143.....
